Programme description

• Call and project selection: “Open Call” and “Talent research”. June and July.
• Last week of July: final selection of the candidates with the collaboration of national and international mentors and experts.
• September 2024: start of the incubation. Event in Tarragona.
• Mentor assignment and joint training.
• Networking activity: NUBIA Lab ISA Professional Day. Event in the province of Barcelona (Badalona).
• October 2024: specific mentoring for each project.
• November 2024: presentation of the improved projects. Evaluation by the jury. Selection of two projects for the super-acceleration phase. Closing event in Tarragona.

Mentors and trainers

Pending confirmation of the final faculty, these are some of the professionals taking part:

• Alex Ginés: innovation officer at Neàpolis Vilanova, specialising in storytelling for digital projects and in marketing and business development tools.
• Marta Ordeig: founder of Garage Stories, with programmes that promote the creation and promotion of digital projects using immersive technologies. garagestories.org/startups
• Solimán López: digital artist, entrepreneur and innovation trainer at the University of Valencia, with experience creating digital projects such as OLEA. cryptolea.org
• Betty Bigas: art curator, public relations professional and artistic director of exhibition projects, specialising in digital art and new technologies. Consultant for companies such as Kreoz for Apple TV, Nestlé Innovation, NFT Barcelona and DrapArt.

Final terms of the call

Prizes and grants

1. Free, unlimited access to Espronceda’s technical equipment: laptops, virtual reality headsets, projectors, LED screens, etc.
2. Living expenses: €500 per project.

Obligations

NUBIA Labs participants are required to promote the NUBIA programme from the moment they are selected, during their working process and afterwards, using the hashtags and logos provided by the organisation.

Artists must provide an executable copy of the project for NUBIA, which may require installation in a physical or virtual location, and deliver a report describing the project and explaining its technical requirements so that it can be run correctly.
