First Barcelona International Paste Up Festival, 2022
Barcelona International Paste Up Street Art Fest is an initiative created by the BCNPasteUp collective, aiming to spread Paste Up culture through an international-scale festival, with Barcelona as a world reference in Urban Art capitals.
Espronceda Urban Art Prize as part of the Barcelona International Paste Up Street Art Fest
On 18 June, we are pleased to host an award dedicated to Urban Art as part of the Barcelona International Paste Up (BCNUP). The Festival will feature more than 300 artists and will take place in collaboration with urban and contemporary art galleries, bringing together people from all walks of life to explore the cultural and artistic values of the community, spreading different forms of artistic expression; an expression built on four basic elements: Paper, Paste, Wall, and the artist’s own illustration Technique.
SUNDAY 18 SEPTEMBER
12:00. Opening of the festival’s final day, paste-up session at the
premises of Espronceda Institute of Art and Culture.
15:00. Start of collaborative work with the community and neighbours of
Espronceda, creating paste-up collages on Espronceda’s walls.

BCNUP PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
- More than 300 paste-up artists from around the world, over 1 Festival weekend alongside a couple of micro-events to promote this art form
- 2 urban galleries: Nau Bostik, Arnau Gallery
Nau Bostik: more than 10 years promoting urban art in Barcelona, creators of national and international projects. Barcelona’s first urban art museum.
Arnau Gallery: Since 2016 they have promoted contemporary urban art in Barcelona, dedicated to collaboration and experimentation between national and international artists.

Espronceda Urban Art Prize:
Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture proposes to collaborate with the creative space, community integration and to offer an artistic residency for the prize-winning artist selected by our jury, where the artist will be able to develop their art by living in the neighbourhood and collaborating with locals, concluding their residency period with the exhibition of their work at the BCNUP festival.
