Pascal Frament was born in 1968 in Paris and grew up in Meudon. His relationship with images began, as is often the case, through the experience of being a viewer. He soon developed an interest in image-capturing devices and in the reproduction of both image and sound. The afternoons spent immersed in the breath and the gentle roar of the projection machine at the local cinema became formative, almost primal scenes for him, as did, later on, the practice of working in a photo lab and the moment when the image emerges in the developing tank.
