ESPRONCEDA ā Institute of Art & Culture is launching an international Open Call for artist residencies taking place in two phases: a local interconnected residency over 2 weeks and a final residency all together in Barcelona (3ā4 weeks).
This residency programme is carried out in collaboration with international partners:
MEET Digital Culture Center, IRCAM, Aalto Studios, Dashboard, V2, Helsinki XR Center, ./studio3 Institute for Experimental Architecture, Karma Lab, University for the Creative Arts, Updated Art Studio and Hard Disk Museum.
Are you an artist (visual, music, performer) / creative / coder / curious mind interested in co-creating immersive and interactive projects using the most advanced technologies: VR, AI, 360 projection, 3D sound, camera scanners and sensors?
The Open Call runs until 15th April 2021 ā only a few days left to apply, but great opportunities await.

The residency includes:
Local Pre-Residencies:
- Mentorship by a professional who will guide your team through the first steps of the project.
- Collaboration with local institutions to use their equipment, seek advice or carry out a first test of the group project.
- Free access to online webinars.
- Invitation to the IMMENSIVA VR Platform.
- Networking with international institutions and professionals.
Residency in Barcelona:
- Working space with access to all technical equipment at Espronceda.
- Accommodation in Espronceda’s artist houses.
- Participation in workshops organised by experts in AI, 3D sound, immersive experiences, etc.
- Organised visits to creative spaces and art centres across the city.
- Participation in the final exhibition.
- Safe environment with Covid protocols in place.
The residency does not include:
- Travel costs. We will help you apply for a grant through international mobility programmes.
- Stipends or fees.
- Insurance.
