The Urban Art centre B-Murals is pleased to announce its new residency, featuring artists Nicolás Romero Ever (ig: @eversiempre), Octavio Sierra (ig: @ooss_ooss_ooss), @colectivolicuado and @mur0ne, who, within the framework of the project «Change is a Team Sport», will be installed in our space to work on their artworks alongside their participation in a series of activities with different groups and schools in the La Sagrera neighbourhood, continuing the line of social transformation and support for artistic creation that we share at B-Murals.
The artists, beyond the production of live work, will lead a series of meetings with institutions such as La Llotja School of Design and the Espronceda Institute of Art & Culture. Nicolás Romero, together with Espronceda artists (Hannah Bere, Juan Ortiz and Katharina Arndt), Octavio Sierra and sculpture students from La Llotja, will give talks about their careers in public space art at the Joan Fuster Institute alongside Mur0ne. The programme will also include a meeting between Uruguayan artists Colectivo Licuado and the social fabric of the La Sagrera neighbourhood, where residents can discuss the identity of the area through public space interventions with this internationally renowned urban painting collective.
A project that, beyond introducing street art culture to different institutions in La Sagrera, will give rise to a series of murals by the same artists distributed across different parts of the Sant Andreu district. At the same time, during March and April, B-Murals will transform its exhibition space into a workshop where the participating artists will produce a series of works to be exhibited at the urban art centre located in Nau Bostik, in an opening planned for 6 May 2020.
This exhibition will include images of the entire participatory process with the different neighbourhood groups, along with the works produced during the residencies of @eversiempre and @ooss_ooss_ooss (March) and @murone and @colectivolicuado (April), as well as images of the murals created during their time in Barcelona.
A project co-curated with Urvanity-Arte, made possible thanks to @adidas_es.
