Colectivo EUNK: Improvisation Concerts
Espronceda presents an evening of sonic experimentation and free improvisation with Chilean artists César Bernal and Sebastián Tapia
December 10th, 2016, 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM
The duo formed by César Bernal and Sebastián Tapia arrives in the old continent from the port city of Valparaíso, Chile, to embark on a musical journey where free improvisation and sonic exploration set the tone.
The musicians from Valparaíso bring a wealth of new sensations drawn from traditional sound sources such as the double bass, played by César Bernal, and everyday objects including cans, metals, wood and stones manipulated by Sebastián Tapia. Two worlds coexist, relating and complementing each other, yet also free to diverge — and that is where the magic happens.
Throughout their European tour, the duo will present different sets for each performance, collaborating with artists such as Johannes Haase and Lucas Alvarado, among others. They will also perform solo pieces for double bass and electronics. This adventure aims to promote Chilean experimental music, forge connections with artists, and strengthen the ties built between Colectivo EUNK (Valparaíso, Chile) and high-level international musicians.
