RISE UP’s Travelling Exhibition – Värska, Setomaa

The RISE UP Travelling Exhibition arrived in Värska, Setomaa, on October 6th, as a highlight of this year’s Seto Week. This stop in the heart of the Seto community serves as a vibrant tribute to the Seto language and the rich cultural tapestry of this unique border region.

RISE UP TRAVELLING EXHIBITION 2025 Hosted at the Värska Cultural Center, the exhibition opened with a powerful performance by the Mar´atsäuk choir, blending traditional polyphonic singing with the contemporary visual narratives of the project. The exhibition will remain open to the public through the end of November.

ABOUT RISE UP

RISE UP – Revitalising Languages and Safeguarding Cultural Diversity is a European Union-funded project under Horizon Europe. It supports endangered (minoritised) language communities across Europe by developing tools, research, and networks to promote language revitalisation. The project brings together eight partners from six countries and focuses on five case study communities: Aranese (Spain), Aromanian/Vlach (Balkans), Burgenland Croatian (Austria), Cornish (UK), and Seto (Estonia/Russia).
