RISE UP Digital Toolkit

The RISE UP Digital Toolkit is now available!

The toolkit aims to be a foundation for building digital spaces for minoritised language learning and connections. We have implemented first lessons for Burgenland Croatian and Seto, co-created by members of the communities, as well as linguistic challenges for Aranese, Aromanian/Vlach, and Cornish, complemented by community and forum features. Through the admin backend, further courses and spaces for even more minoritised languages can be created, and the existing ones expanded.

Languege Map

EUROPEAN LANGUAGES VISUALISED

Learn more about the languages of the European Union!

LanguageMap.eu is a collection of currently available data on official languages, regional and minority languages (RMLs), recognised and unrecognised languages in the European Union + Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, and the United Kingdom, as well as the legal measures that some countries have taken to protect local languages.

Voice of community

An Album of Minoritised Language Music, Songs, and the Spoken Word

From May 22-29, 2024, the RISE UP project organised “Voices of Community”, an international Artist Residency for minoritised languages. Five spoken word artists and singers came together in Barcelona, each representing one of the five RISE UP communities (Aranese, Aromanian/Vlach, Burgenland Croatian, Cornish, Seto).

What?! RISE UP’s travelling exhibition

Album and informative panels in eleven languages

RISE UP commissioned an artist from each of its 5 selected minoritised language communities to create an artwork that communicates a unique message, an image, or a feeling to the viewer. Our five artists were asked the questions: What would you say to your community? What would you like to say to people from outside of your community? And have created five pieces, which we are thrilled to show you.
